- Aluminum pots, much cheaper than iron ones, are more widely used than we imagine. On the other hand, however, some people are a little worried about safety problem while using aluminum pots. It’s said that frequent usage of aluminum cookware will lead to overdosing of the aluminum element and cause diseases. It is true? Is it safe to use aluminum pots?
The fact to both questions are “YES”, which is not illogical at all, as long as you figure out reasons behind. The fact is, the overdosing of any metal will bring about harm to your health, including iron and aluminum. Normally speaking, iron cookware has a wide scope of application then that of aluminum, because the latter tend to have reaction with both acid and alkali. If you use aluminum pots for frying, it will not be a good idea, but if you use them for boiling water and soup, there’s no health problem at all. Aluminum pots can also be used as cooking pots. They are usually coated with a special layer of separation film, and when the meal is done, a wood shovel is used to get it out, so they are very safe for usage. Compared with iron and steel, aluminum alloy has good heat conductivity, lighter weight and lower price. If used properly, aluminum pots do not cause any health problem. That’s why they are still popular around the world.
