The painted aluminum sheet metal for licence plate is of 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100, 3003, 5005 or 5052 alloy. Purchasers usually choose an alloy based on the hardness, tensile strength, corrosion resistance and service life they need. Aluminium metal has such a good forming property that it can be made into licence plates of various shapes, designs and colors. Some are stamped with concave and convex patterns of special local symbols. The metal, light and thin, turns up with diverse appearances in cars around the world.
Owing to the hardness and mechanical properties required, a painted aluminum sheet metal of one alloy can be processed into varied tempers, including O, H12, H14, H16, H22, H24, H32, H34, H36, H42, H44, H46 etc. O stands for the softest state of an alloy, H*2 a little harder, H*4 even harder, and H*6 the hardest. In particular, the h4* is applied only to aluminium alloy products to be painted. The “4” here means the process of color coating. Thus theoretically all painted aluminium sheets for licence plates can only be of H4* tempers, but other tempers for non-painted sheets are usually applied by people habitually in the industry. The thickness of the sheet influences the mechanical properties of licence plates, too. Regular thickness of licence aluminium plates range from 0.8mm to 2.0mm. Under the condition that other specifications are the same, the thicker an aluminum sheet is, the harder it would be.
The licence plate pre-painted aluminum metal can be of either plate or coil type, with a maximum width of 1800mm and length up to 9500mm (sheet). PE and PVDF paints of various colors are available. You can send a sample color or name a RAL color. We have regular coating layers and thicknesses for painted aluminium sheet metal for licence plates, but customized coating standards are acceptable, too.
